What do the fish have to say about getting hooked?
Okay so, after we finished reading the first 31 pages of “The Old man and the Sea,” it sounds exactly like I thought it would so far. For lack of better words, it’s boring. This book is doomed for the bonfire. I mean seriously, the title says it all. There’s this old man, and he fishes. In the sea. See? If you were in Borders and you could only pick one book because you have the salary of a ten-year-old, would you pick a bland looking book called “The Old man and the Sea,” or would you pick a book called “Pick up this book because it will change your life forever”? Yes, exactly. Although I have to admit, there was one sentence that caught my eye a bit. Page 10,
”Everything about him was old except his eyes and they were the same color as the sea and were cheerful and undefeated.”
I have often met people who remind me of this sentence. People who have encountered every struggle life threw at them, but their eyes look as young and carefree as a child’s.
