Winter dreams. *AIRBEAR COMMENT THIS ONE*
This is a short story of “love” and heartbreak. The reason I put love in quotations is because I don’t think there is one ounce of real love in this story. I mean, I’m not even sure if I know what real love is but, it has to be more than this. Dexter became infatuated with Judy because of her high placement in terms of social class. He fell in love with the idea of being with her, he didn’t fall in love with her as a person. He liked the idea of being with this person who wasn’t stable, where nothing was for sure and the world he lived in could turn upside-down or backwards at any moment and he could just escape. I bet that everyone feels like that, everyone wants that instability at some point in their lives. Even though instability can be a terrible thing, it makes you feel alive and that’s what people crave.

Hmmmmm. Real love? What is real love and how do you know? I don’t think that most people look for instability, but maybe something a little risky or out of the ordinary. But all in all, I think people crave security and “love”.
